Through our efforts, we aspire to ease the financial burdens of local families with various needs, while inspiring generosity and goodwill among the residents of our community. In doing so, we ultimately hope to extend the positive impacts of our work throughout neighboring communities as well.

These goals can only be achieved with the support of our great community. Please contact us to learn more about becoming a part of the neighborhood.

Nice to meet you.

In 2009, Chad and Kathie Opel, along with their family organized the first annual Taste of Edwardsville as a standalone fundraiser benefiting the Greg Seibert Foundation after Chad’s own stepfather suffered a spinal stroke. After witnessing the event’s success, outpouring of generosity by the Edwardsville community and the difference it made for Chad’s own family, they were inspired and committed to make this an ongoing community effort — with the goal of helping other families in similar times of crisis.

By 2010, Edwardsville Neighbors in Need was established as a certified 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Today, we work diligently to promote our services in the community and actively seek and accept nominations for families facing medical hardship within District 7. All fundraising events, community efforts, nomination and awards of assistance are overseen, reviewed and decided by an acting Board of Directors.

Stories

Our blog is dedicated to telling you about local Edwardsville families ENIN has assisted. And, at times we'll just want to share stories about how great our community is! It is through community nomination and support that makes what we do possible -- as every dollar ENIN receives goes direct to helping District 7 families in crisis. We can’t express enough our thankfulness to the Edwardsville community. Or, how inspired we are by the strength of the families nominated to us as they so often exemplify resiliency in the face of adversity.
